EXPANDING FILES
I HAVE DOWNLOAD A COMPRESSED FILE, NOW WHAT?
Macintosh users - A Macintosh compressed file will have an ending that says .sit or.hqx The file may unstuff or expand automatically once it is downloaded. If it doesn't just double click on the file and it should expand. If this does not work, do a search on your computer for "stuffit expander". When you find it, click on it to run the program. Then double click on the file you want to expand. You can also just drag the file that you want to exand onto the "stuffit expander" icon.
Windows users - A Windows file that is compressed will have an ending that says .zip. Many people have their right mouse button set to expand a compressed file. First click on the file you want to expand with your right mouse button. If there is a selection that says "expand to.....", go ahead and select that to expand your file. If your right mouse button is not set, check your "Start Menu" to see if "Winzip" is available. If it is start "Winzip" and follow the help instructions to expand the file. There may also be an expanding program in your Internet folder on your hard drive.
Windows users can download a free evaluation program that will expand the files here.
